About Us

The Coalition of Blacks Against Cancer (CBAC) is an Arizona-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing high-quality, reliable information and support to Black cancer patients. Our mission encompasses educating the Black community about cancer prevention, diagnosis, and screening. Through our dedicated branches—the Coalition of Blacks Against Breast Cancer (CBBC) and the Coalition of Blacks Against Prostate Cancer (CBPC)—we offer specialized resources and support to individuals navigating breast and prostate cancer.

CBAC was co-founded by Dr. Michele Halyard, a Radiation Oncologist at Mayo Clinic, and Marion Kelly, Director of Community and Business Relations for Mayo Clinic Arizona. Their leadership and dedication have been instrumental in addressing health disparities and promoting health equity within our community.,
